3 Great Midsize SUVs Nobody Buys

Shopping for a new midsize SUV in 2022? Finding an excellent, affordable and available model can be difficult. However, less popular models are much easier to find right now. Luckily, there are a few well-reviewed midsize SUVs that people don’t buy. Consumer Reports recommends three excellent midsize SUVs that no one is buying.

Great Midsize SUVs Nobody Buys

According to Good Car Bad Car, the Chevrolet Blazer, Nissan Murano, and Honda Passport did not sell well in the first quarter of 2022. Additionally, each sold fewer models than in the same quarter of 2021. Additionally, they sell much worse than many models in the same class. While customers are buying some midsize SUVs recommended by Consumer Reports, there are plenty of lower-end options that outsell these three excellent options.

Consumer Reports recommends the 2022 Chevrolet Blazer

Earning the coveted “Recommended” label from Consumer Reports is no easy task. That’s why it doesn’t seem fair that the Blazer sold fewer models this year than last. It’s CR’s third midsize SUV, right behind the Subaru Outback and Toyota Venza. Starting at $33,400, there are a lot of things CR likes about the Blazer besides the affordability.

First, CR really liked the performance of the crossover. As a result, acceleration, braking and transmission are rated positive. In addition, driving the vehicle is exceptionally quiet. Finally, the Blazer has user-friendly and easy-to-use controls.

Next, the fourth-ranked midsize SUV recommended by Consumer Reports is the 2022 Nissan Murano. It offers great value with an even lower starting price than the Blazer, $33,310. Additionally, CR loved its test-drive experience and predicts that it will remain reliable for another model year, like previous iterations.

Highlights from the publication’s tests include a premium and luxurious cabin. Inside a vehicle of any size, everyone wants to feel comfortable and have a smooth driving experience. Nissan’s midsize SUV offers that and more. In addition, CR benefits from the powerful standard engine, a 3.5-liter V6 developing 260 horsepower. Finally, a simple infotainment system is a nice change of pace from modern systems that tend to overdo just about everything.

2022 Honda Passport: More Expensive, Still Underrated

A light gray 2022 Honda Passport TrailSport, there are some great midsize SUVs that no one is buying. The models recommended by these consumer reports are better than the ones that sell them better.

Finally, the 2022 Honda Passport is recommended by Consumer Reports. However, it is a bit more expensive than the Murano and the Blazer. Honda’s midsize SUV offering starts at $38,370 but is one of the best options available. Although it’s a little further down the CR rankings, it still earned the recommended label.

Overall, there’s a lot to like about the Passport, including the high predicted reliability. In addition, the publication appreciated the acceleration of the 3.5-liter V6 engine developing 280 horsepower. Like other models, the Passport offers a relatively quiet ride for passengers inside. Engine, road and wind noise are almost non-existent, which is great for ride quality. Finally, the Honda Passport offers plenty of interior space for passengers and cargo.

Consumer Reports Recommends 3 Midsize SUVs No One Buys

In conclusion, too few people buy these three excellent midsize SUVs. As Consumer Reports recommended models, the 2022 Chevrolet Blazer, Nissan Murano, and Honda Passport are fantastic options. However, data shows that they are not selling as well as other models so far in 2022. Popular models may be hard to find in today’s market, but they are not rated as highly as these- this. Try one of those great midsize SUVs that no one buys to get a better deal on an amazing SUV.
