Choosing the best 2022 Chevy Trailblazer trim is easy

Chevy makes some of the best trucks, SUVs and cars in the world. One of the most underrated models is the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer. Overshadowed by the Blazer, Equinox, and even the Traverse, many people overlook it. Buying this affordable little crossover is easy because it has a better trim level than the rest. Experts agree that the Trailblazer LT is the version to buy, and most customers did. Choosing the best 2022 Chevy Trailblazer trim is easy.

The best 2022 Chevy Trailblazer trim is the LT

Although Chevy offers four different Trailblazer options, the best all-around version is the LT. Like other great models, the Trailblazer LT offers the best combination of features and specs that most consumers appreciate at a great price. Plus, the LT model is a cut above the base model, starting at $25,145. Luckily, that’s not much more than the base LS model, which costs $22,995.

According to Edmunds, the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer LT is the most popular version with buyers. And it’s easy to see why. The main attraction of the crossover is the price, which is affordable even compared to other members of its class. However, the standard equipment with the two lower trims is not bad either. For example, the LT model comes with heated front seats, a feature usually found only in much more expensive versions of crossovers.

Purchasing the LT version unlocks many standard upgrades

First, the front-drive Trailblazers come with a 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine. As a result, it produces 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. Alternatively, the all-wheel-drive version gains a beefier 1.3-liter turbocharged three-cylinder that develops 155 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque. Surprisingly, the base model is not lacking in equipment either. For example, a Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, forward collision mitigation, lane keeping assist and automatic high beams are standard.

However, upgrading to the top trim level, LT, gives you even more. Details like roof rails, LED fog lamps, heated mirrors, tinted rear windows and proximity keyless entry are included. Additionally, owners get push-button ignition, cruise control, remote ignition, a power-adjustable driver’s seat and heated front seats. With all those upgrades over the base model, the price difference of around $3,000 doesn’t seem like much.

If you want to spend more than the price of an LT model, there are two other options. However, given that things like the upgraded engine and all-wheel drive are optional across the range, we’re not sure there’s enough reason to upgrade. Additionally, the $27,020 Trailblazer Activ version comes standard with the more powerful engine.

Plus, it has off-road-ready tires and suspension settings, skid plates and a tow hitch receiver. Then the Activ trim has unique styling, a two-tone roof, leatherette interior, rear center armrest, leather steering wheel and gearshift knob, and heated steering wheel. Finally, the RS model is the top of the range but starts at the same price as the Activ version.

Only a few minor changes make the RS different from the Activ. These are 18-inch alloy wheels with standard tires and red interior accents. However, many optional packages are available for the Trailblazer. It’s the only way to get great features like a hands-free tailgate, panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, Bose audio and more.

Choosing the best Trailblazer build is easy

Finding the best version of the 2022 Chevy Trailblazer is easy. Experts from Edmunds and Car and Driver agree that the more popular version is the better option. With so much more value than the base model for a small price increase, the LT is the easy choice. However, those who want better performance can upgrade to the more powerful engine and all-wheel drive for more.
