State police say a confrontation between two drivers led to a shooting on Interstate 5 in Salem on Friday morning.

Around 8:50 a.m., police responded to a shooting on the freeway near Northeast Portland Road, according to a Friday evening news release.

The cars involved were a silver 2013 Nissan Juke four-door crossover SUV and a dark blue 2012 Chevrolet Caprice four-door sedan, according to the press release.

Police released little information about the incident and said they would not release the names of the drivers while they investigate.
