Ohio man killed in 2 vehicle crash; East Bernstadt man accused of leaving crash site

June 14 — An Ohio man died and an East Bernstadt man jailed following a fatal crash on KY 1376 Saturday afternoon.

According to information from the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office, the crash took place around 4:43 p.m. when a Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Domonic Edward Sanchez, 53, of Xenia, Ohio, was heading west on the KY 1376 and struck a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck. , causing a fatal injury to Sanchez. Sanchez was pronounced dead at the scene by the Laurel County Coroner’s Office.

The driver of the van, Ronnie Davis, 54, of KY 490 in East Bernstadt, left the scene of the accident and was later located by a sheriff on leave and the City of London police within the limits of the city ​​of London in a Chevrolet Impala. Davis was slightly injured in the crash, but did not require medical attention. He was placed under arrest for leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a suspended DUI license, first offense, reckless driving, no insurance card, failure to comply with required insurance / safety, first offense and no license plates. No obligations were listed.
