Police chase ends in Murrieta with an accident in Jefferson and a date

MURRIETA, Calif. — An apparent suspect pursuit by the Menifee Police Department ended Friday morning in Murrieta with a crash at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Date Street.

The suspect was in a white Chevrolet SUV when he collided with a motorist in a black BMW sedan around 9.30am at the intersection at the south end of Murrieta.

The suspect was receiving medical treatment at the scene in the back of a Menifee police cruiser, but the BMW driver, who was cooperating with the investigation, refused to seek treatment at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

It is not known why the suspect was wanted and his identity has not been released.

In addition to the Menifee officers, Murrieta police and deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene.
