TEWKSBURY – Chief Ryan Columbus reports that the Tewksbury Police Department is investigating a robbery that was reported in the parking lot of a Main Street business.

On Friday April 29 at around 2.30pm, Tewksbury Police received a report that a woman had been robbed in the parking lot of a shopping complex at 333 Main Street.

An initial investigation determined that the woman was returning to her vehicle after shopping at around 1:30 p.m. when she was approached by a red Chevrolet sport utility vehicle with no front license plate.

A man was driving the vehicle and a woman was in the front passenger seat. The vehicle stopped towards the victim and the passenger began to speak to him in a low voice. When the victim approached the vehicle to hear the passenger, the passenger grabbed the woman’s necklace around his neck and the vehicle drove off.

No injuries were reported.

Tewksbury Police urge anyone with information about this incident to call 978-851-7373. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call the inquiry line at 978-851-0175 or email: [email protected]
