You can no longer order a 2022 Ford Bronco Raptor

Are you one of the many people looking at the new Bronco Raptor and thinking whether or not to buy one? Perhaps you are trying to find out if it is the right vehicle for you, how to justify the purchase to your spouse/accountant or are you waiting for our expert opinion behind the wheel? Maybe you are just undecided?

To quote Billy Wordsworth, “You doze off, you lose, bucko.” A new disclaimer on Ford’s Bronco Raptor information page reads: “Due to high demand, the current model year is no longer available for retail order. Limited inventory may be available at select dealers. Contact your dealer for more information.”

We emailed Ford to confirm our suspicion that customer orders for the 2022 Bronco Raptor have completely sold out. While a rep told us the 2022 race was for existing reservation holders only, the original press release reads, “The majority of the 2022 model year Bronco Raptor allocation will go to existing reservation holders. based on their original booking timestamp.” We now know from Ford’s website that customers can no longer place orders for the 2022 Bronco Raptor. And no one outside of Ford has driven one yet.

You may need to try again next year

Ford has plenty of hot new vehicles for which demand far exceeds supply. The automaker had to close order books for the 2022 Maverick hybrid last December, the gas-only Maverick in January, standard Bronco models in March and the F-150 Lightning electric truck in April.

Reservations for the Bronco Raptor began in early March, days after order books for standard Broncos closed. It looks like potential buyers had about two months to reserve their vehicle before all production 2022 Bronco Raptor earmarked for customer orders ran out.

If you want a 2022 Bronco Raptor but haven’t placed an order yet, you’re out of luck. You can always try to buy a Bronco Raptor directly from a dealership, although you may have to settle for something that isn’t exactly what you’re looking for. You could also try your hand later this year, when Ford will likely open order books for the 2023 Bronco Raptor again.

Edmunds says

Ford just closed order books for the 2022 Bronco Raptor. If you want a Raptor but haven’t locked in an order, you can try buying one from a dealership or wait for orders to open for the model. 2023.
